Local Houses and Their Heating
Housing spans multiple eras: Census ACS 2024 estimates indicate the largest share of housing units was built in the 1950s, followed by the 1960s, with substantial pre-1940 and later housing as well. Basement prevalence is unknown. What that means on a service call: the burner might be a Beckett from the 1980s or a Riello fitted last year, and the boiler behind it anything from a cast-iron sectional to a condensing unit. The truck is stocked for the whole range.
Oil Burners and Gas Heating Systems
The fuel does not change how we work. Oil burners get a nozzle, filter and strainer with every cleaning, gas boilers get their igniters and valves checked, and both get a combustion and safety test before the technician leaves.

Winter No-Heat Repair Calls
The hamlet's shoreline and low-lying waterfront areas are exposed to coastal flooding and storm-driven high water; exposure varies by property and elevation. Check address-specific flood maps for a particular home. Salt air and damp basements near the water are hard on tank fittings and fuel lines, so tune-ups here include a close look at the tank bottom and filter.
